Class Information

Drum Class – 10 week course.  $125.00 (includes music fee) if paid in full by the first class otherwise a $10.00 late fee will be added to cost.  Beginning to intermediate students.

Required items:  Music (included in class fee), drum sticks, practice pad or snare drum.  Items can be purchased on your own or through class.  Any items you wish to purchase through the class must be ordered at least one week prior to the first class to ensure your student has them for class.  Items ordered later may arrive after classes start.

Drum sticks - $10.00
Practice pad - $25.00
OR
Snare drum kit (comes with drum, backpack bag, stand, muffle pad, drumsticks & drum key) - $169.00

Suggested items:
Metronome – $24.00
Ear plugs - $1.00


About the Director:

Picture
Paul Worthen - has been involved in music for most of his life, starting with piano, moving to violin, and finally on to be a percussionist.  Paul studied percussion with Doug Wolf at the University of Utah and with Ron Brough, Jay Lawrence and others at Brigham Young University.  Paul has performed throughout the United States and Canada with noteworthy performances in fine concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.  He has taught privately, worked as a studio musician, and has performed with several bands and orchestras performing all types of music.  Paul is currently the principal timpanist for the Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra.  For several years Paul has directed music festivals for high school and junior high school music groups of all kinds throughout the United States and Canada.  Paul has had the opportunity at these music festivals to work with and learn from world renowned composers, educators, and adjudicators.  Contact Paul at (801) 492-3831 or email.
